Yet most people who collect antiques and other collectibles confess to doing so because they like it. It's a passion that many enjoy, and one that seems to have its roots in the fact that antiques are often unique, and of course, old and rich in history. Collectors of antiques can also enjoy their treasures, unlike an investor in a stock or bond. Imagine owning a genuine Ming porcelain vase, for instance, or a piece of artwork signed by a master. It is a real source of great pride.
